Cold-air condensation shrouds the window panes of a darkened Galway City Gym, the interior barely lit by a sun that's not quite yet willing to rise. With 2 hours sleep to my name, I know how it feels.

Read MoreSaturday the 27th of April 2013 brought an onslaught of power and muscle to the Ulster Hall in the heart of Belfast, and I was fortunate enough to have been invited along by the team over at Irish Muscle to cover photographic duties at the event. Having only ever occupied this role once before at WABBA Derry in late 2012, I was keen to get involved one more time and try my hand at free shooting a live event.
Read MoreI thought i'd share a couple of shots from a brief session I had with my mate Conor Small the other day. He competed in the Novice class at the RIBBF on Sunday the 14th of April and we agreed to get a few shots following the event. Conor himself felt as though he needed another couple of weeks on the diet to bring his best package to the table. Despite this he still placed 4th in a very tough class and knows more about his body and diet system should he return to stage down the line.
